Tattoo Aftercare

What to do
- Leave the tattoo bandaged for at least 1 hour but no longer than 3 hours. When you remove the bandage it might stick to the tattoo. If this happens run cool water over the bandage and gently remove it.
- Once removed, use only unscented liquid anti-bacterial soap and wash the tattoo well with warm water using ONLY your hand every few hours for the first 24 hours.
- After 24 hours: begin using unscented Lubriderm lotion after washing and gently drying your tattoo 4-5 times a day or as needed for excessive dryness.
- If your tattoo is in an area that can be exposed then leave it exposed as much as possible. Allowing your tattoo to breathe will assist in the healing process
- If your tattoo is in an area that must be covered, wear as loose clothing as possible. Do not suffocate your tattoo with socks or pantyhose.
Info
- Between 3 to 6 days after you get your tattoo it will start to flake off. Absolutely do not pick or scratch at it. Allow your skin to peel naturally. You will notice small pieces of dry skin containing pigment flaking off while washing or applying lotion to your tattoo. This is normal. It’s just the top layer of dead skin shedding, your tattoo is not disappearing.
- If you notice any swelling or signs of infection contact your physician immediately! Make sure you inform the physician where you received your tattoo and the artist who tattooed you.
- If your tattoo needs a touch up once it is healed, you may have it touched up at no additional cost to you up to 90 days after the date which you received the tattoo. After 90days there will be a fee to do touch ups.
- If you think your tattoo may be healed but are not sure, see the artist who tattooed you before doing anything listed here what you are not to do during the healing process.
What to Avoid
- Once you have removed the bandage do not re-bandage the tattoo. >
- No direct sunlight for the first 2 to 3 weeks.
- Do not pick or scratch your tattoo while it is healing.
- Do not soak your tattoo for the first 2 to 3 weeks. No swimming, long baths, hot tubs, or saunas until your tattoo has healed completely.
- No shaving or waxing the area of skin that contains the tattoo until it has healed completely.
- No waxing over the tattoo EVER. This will cause the area around the hair follicles to lose pigment and you will be left with white dots and require a touch up.
- Do not apply alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, petroleum jelly, perfumes, scented lotions, or sun block to your tattoo until it has healed completely.
- Do not listen to your friends or so called tattoo experts about your tattoo care. If you have any questions or concerns contact the artist who tattooed you.

Piercing Aftercare
What to do
Cleaning Solutions
- H2Ocean (our recommendation)
- Saline solution or ear care solution
- Wound Wash
- Ocean Nasal Mist
- Simply Saline Nasal Spray
- Sea salt mixture. (1/8 tsp to 8oz of water)
- DO NOT use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, betadinze, triple a, soap, or any other ointment
What is Normal
- Mild to moderate localized swelling, tenderness, bruising, bleeding, redness, itching or a white/yellow fluid (which is not puss) that can form a crust on the piercing.
- The tissue around the piercing may tighten as it heals. Once the piercing heals, the jewelry may or may not move freely. DO NOT force it.
- A piercing may seem healed before healing is complete, but the tissue heals from the outside in, so be patient and continue to clean thoroughly.
- Even healed piercings can shrink and close in minutes even though they've been there for years. This varies from person to person, so if you like your piercing then leave your jewelry in place.
What to Avoid
Avoid undue trauma such as friction from tight clothing, playing with the piercing, overly vigorous cleaning, oral contact, rough play, or contact with other bodily fluids.
